F.C. New York will definitely have a place in the New York sports scene, especially with the Red Bulls being located in New Jersey. They should be able to attract large crowds and support, especially if they can field a competitive team and sign some players that the fans can identify with. I just think its a mistake to create a rivalry with the Red Bulls since they aren't in the same league and won't play each other, unless they happen to be paired in the U.S. Open Cup. They might decide to play friendly games against each other, but they won't be competitive ones. It should be interesting though to see what F.C. New York has in store in the coming months. Hopefully it won't involve hiring Alexi Lalas as their General Manager...

F.C. New York vs the New Jersey Red Bulls
Ouch, it looks like the rivalry has already started, at least on the side of F.C. New York. Take a look at their website. "We slay the Bull" I guess F.C. New York is declaring a territorial war on the New Jersey Red Bulls, trying to claim the metropolitan area as their own. Its going to be difficult though as F.C. New York will be in the USL and not the MLS. They won't be able to attract players like Juan Pablo Angel, Albert Celades, etc.

I believe FC NY will be creating a partnership with an English side, and that this club is playing for a Premier League place. That's either Burnley or Sheff Utd, and judging by all the Sheff Utd paraphernalia in FCNY's office, you can make a good guess. FC NY Blades??
Hmmm I don't know how helpful it would be to create a partnership with those clubs. They aren't that big and you would think that F.C New York would be looking for a bigger splash. The Pittsburgh Riverhounds (USL Div 2) have an affiliation of some sort with Everton for example.
