John Harkes - New York Times article

This article from the New York Times where John Harkes outlines his concerns about the U.S National Team is very interesting, and also happens to echo a lot of the same things that I've been writing about. Basically the premise is that while the U.S. has gotten the results that it had needed, they still is room for improvement, especially in attack.

There is nobody better qualified then John Harkes to comment on the state of affairs with the U.S. National Team. I agree with the idea that its time to introduce Freddy Adu and Jozy Alitdore to the national setup. The one thing I disagree with is his view on Eddie Johnson. You can't let his club form affect your judgement about a player when it comes to the national team. Eddie Johnson has shown in the past that he has a lot of talent and he needs to keep his place in the national setup. He is the present and the future at center forward and Bob Bradley needs to try and get the best out of him. All in all its a very good article and nice to see Harkes' opinions on the national team.
