Pavlyuchenko to Tottenham
It appears that Tottenham have signed Roman Pavlyuchenko from Spartak Moscow. This is exactly the move that they need to make, to sign a pure goal-scoring forward to replace Robbie Keane and most likely also Dimitar Berbatov. Pavlyuchenko showed at Euro 2008 that he is a player with a lot of ability, who can lead the front line and he should be a real star for Spurs and in the Premier League. He is also a much better fit for Spurs then signing Andrei Arshavin as they already have so many creative players like Modric, Bentley, Lennon, etc. Assuming that the next move to is part with Berbatov, then they will need someone to help Darren Bent out at the forward position, and this is the perfect move. Spurs have started the new season a little slowly, but I can still see them having a good player if they can get some continuity with all of the new players that they've brought in. A Champions League place might be a realistic target.

Agreed. Pavly is still a little raw but Tottenham would have been duplicating the type of talent they already have loads of by buying Arshavin.
Tottenham looked like EPL boobs for overloading on the midfield in the transfer market. This move should help balance things though.

Thanks for the comment Sam. I do disagree with the one comment about overloading on midfield talent, I don't think you can go wrong signing players like Luka Modric and David Bentley. If they had the money signing Arshavin would still be a good move as they really don't have a creative player on the left wing or forward position. I doubt that they want to spend the money now though, unless the Berbatov move goes through. I still think they would need 1 more forward also as cover for Bent and Pavlyuchenko.
