Another frustrating move by a European club with an American player as
Fulham are loaning Eddie Johnson out to Cardiff City. Eddie Johnson barely had an opportunity to play for Fulham, having joined the team during the winter break last season as they were in the middle of a relegation battle. His chances to play were few and far between and now he will be going down to the English Championship League, which is one division lower then the Premiership. Johnson should be given the opportunity to play as a starter and a chance to establish himself, but I would have preferred to see him given this opportunity at Fulham where he could play against top competition every week. Or perhaps if he were loaned out to a team in one of the other top leagues in Europe. This is a setback for Eddie Johnson and the U.S. National team, which desperately needs him to be in top form for the upcoming World Cup qualifying campaign. Hopefully, he finds it at Cardiff and gets an opportunity at Fulham in the second half of the season.
