Aston Villa sign James Milner

Look out Manchester United and Chelsea, Aston Villa have signed James Milner! Doing exactly as I predicted in previous columns, Aston Villa aren't spending big money on a player that can really have a major impact, but are signing a collection of nice, complimentary players who will make their team better, but will not put them in the same league as the big clubs. Imagine if Aston Villa had signed Klaus Jan Huntelaar for example, a player who has shown that he has all that it takes to be one of the top forwards in Europe. Villa won't make those kinds of moves and seem to be simply content with being a top level team in the Premier League, a step below the big clubs with players like Milner, Carlos Cuellar, etc. That is why Gareth Barry was looking to leave the club this summer, a lack of ambition. Despite the early results, at least Tottenham are trying to bring in the players who could help them move up into the top 4. Meanwhile Aston Villa will finish somewhere in the top ten, hoping for the best and a spot in the UEFA Cup.
