The New York Times has an article about Kenny Cooper and Juan Toja leaving F.C. Dallas for Rosenborg and Steaua Bucharest respectively. I really think both players would be making mistakes, but especially Kenny Cooper. Kenny is on the verge of establishing himself as a top forward in MLS and is still young enough that there will be plenty of opportunities ahead for him if he stays in MLS. With the World Cup qualifiers coming up he should stay in MLS and not only establish himself further there, but also with the U.S. National Team so that he can get a regular place in the lineup for both teams. If he is able to do that plenty of big offers will come and from much bigger clubs in bigger European leagues.
Personally, I feel that Kenny has a lot of talent and will show that he is a top young forward. Rosenborg are a top club in Norway, and years ago had some good runs in the European Champions League. At this point though they aren't as good of a team as they were a few years ago when Norway was amongst the better teams in Europe and a lot of their top players played for Rosenborg. Cooper will have plenty of chances coming ahead of them, and he should hold off to take advantage of them.
I also think that MLS would be crazy to sell him to Rosenborg at this point in his career. He can be one of the stars that they should be building the league around. To accept a few million from Rosenborg is a bad business move as they can make more off him as an attraction for the league and when a bigger offer comes along in a few years. I also think they are setting a bad precedent by continuing to sell off their top young players, especially with new expansion teams starting play over the next few years. They need to have as many quality players as they can afford.

Screw Rosenborg, he should go to Cardiff. Yeah dude, Cardiff's where it's at! Great place man, and the English League Championship Division One is an awesome league!
Yeah dude, I totally dig your comments. Cardiff City soccer club is the place to be to further his soccer dreams. Their soccer fans are passionate and soccer is the no. 1 sport in Wales. Their fans are top dawgs and really hip.

New Stadium alomost complete, last years FA Cup finalists, vibrant city with worldwide air links close by. The fans are passionate and the club is ready for the final level. Join Cardiff, you know it makes sense!!
Ya'll should play at Cardiff, it a real nice place and far bedder than where my cousin Billy Joe Jimbob Jones and his wife, sister, daughter or summat live. They stay in a trailer with no wheels in swansea by the sea I think.
Soccers nice.
Hi everyone, I appreciate all of the pro Cardiff comments and I'm happy that you are all so proud of your team, but I really think that Kenny Cooper should be going to a top club in the Premiership if he is going to leave F.C Dallas. I'm looking at it from the standpoint of his development and the competativeness of the U.S. National Team, and they really need to have their top players either in MLS or at a top club somewhere in Europe and playing regularly. They can't be sitting on the bench like so many of them do as its no good for their overall development.
Dont Join cardiff stay at dalls, cardiff suck dudes ;)
Cardiff City are bigger than Rosenborg and half the english premier league sides. Trouble has been too many people abusing the clubs finances in the past. It's different now, is big and it's comming to get ya.
Cardiff City numero uno would win MLS now with the squad theyhave.
If Kenny don't want to come - then so be it my friends across the pond
Iechyd da bachgen Americanos!!
PS: our ancestors are your forefathers
I originally posted that I hadn't heard anything about Kenny Cooper going to Cariff, but I stand corrected in that there were some rumors apparantly. At any rate according to this latest article from the NY Times he won't be going anywhere most likely.
