David Mosse - ESPN article on Freddy Adu

I couldn't disagree more with this article that David Mosse from ESPN has written about Freddy Adu and I don't consider myself a fan nor do I have anything against Adu. Freddy is still a young man trying to find his way in the game, he has a lot of talent, and when he finds the right situation I think he will settle in and begin to realize his potential. I also really do think that Monaco will be a much better situation for him as the team is bringing him because they want him there. The manager at Benfica that signed Freddy was let go soon afterwards (this was mentioned in the article in ESPN the magazine). The new manager obviously didn't rate Freddy that highly as he didn't play him that much and then spent a lot of money on a player to replace him in Pablo Aimar. The writing was on the wall and it was time to go.

Monaco are a club with a lot of tradition, both in France and in Europe. They are rebuilding and Freddy could have a big role in that if given the opportunity. Its a perfect spot for him as the French League is far less demanding then some of the bigger leagues in Europe, but its quality is still highly regarded, more so then that of Portugal. Only time will tell with Freddy Adu, but I think Mr. Mosse needs to give Freddy a bit more time before determining the negative viewpoint that he expresses in his article. Plenty of players move around in Europe till they find a club where they can thrive professionally.
